  1. Christmas gifts
  2. And 25 Days of Prayer During the Christmas Season

And since I know how much you like videos, here’s a 2 minute video on Revelation 5:8, the Prayer Bowls. I didn’t explain this verse in the direction you normally hear. Enjoy it by CLICKING HERE.

Finally, there are a few people that are actually interested in what I say, well, okay, 3 people, maybe 2. So for you 3, or 2 people. Here is a link to Mark’s Messages and Missives. What’s a Missive?

Praying 25 Days of Christmas

Starting today we begin our 25 Days of Prayer During the Christmas Season. Please review our website everyday for the latest prayer.
This has been a favorite themed prayer tool for the last 4 years. And take the time to review this post to see some of the details related to these 25 Days of Prayer as everyday has a theme, from Brokenness to Giddiness to Promises. Just CLICK HERE.

Prayer Pillars

From the beginning of Common Thread Ministries we have always realized there is a need for certain, “Pillars” if you will, to be incorporated into our ministry. At our website we have a variety of ways for you to find these pillars. The easiest of which is to go to the HOME PAGE and scroll down to the pillar you are interested in exploring. We will continue to populate these pages with more and more Prayer Pillars.

Christmas Gifts from $5.00

Are you still wondering what to do about Christmas? Well, well, well, I think that we have your solution!
– For the Novel Reader: The Pray-ers, 372 pg Historical Christian Fiction
– For the child/grandchild: An all-color remake of an 1887 Children’s Book of Verses
– For the Devotional Lover, a reformatted 1830’s Daily Devotional

Prayer Board

The more I study and the more I teach, the more committed I am to prayer. And just as Michael Guido had a Prayer Board, so do I. This is a representation of my prayer board, which is on the wall, next to me as I type. We hope that over the internet we can make you aware of our prayer requests

Donations

We had some fun with the idea of #GivingTuesday earlier this week. Take a look at our post, A Different #GivingTuesday Strategy.

And if you’re interested:

  • We are looking for 100 people to commit to $25.00/mos for our Kenya Ministry (See how far along we are).
  • This will allow us to make one part time guy permanent and Mark can return three times each year to Kenya.
  • We currently have 3 people/organizations that are giving $200.00 per month.

Calendar

We have made some DRASTIC improvements to the calendar. Please take the time to check it out, and, if you will, use it to pray for us. Thank you.

Prayer Bowls and Praise

Praise and Prayer from Revelation 5:8

Prayer and Praise go hand in hand.

I know this by experience, every time I pray, but it was great to see it in the Word.

Revelation 5:8 (HCSB)
When He took the scroll, the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and gold bowls filled with incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

What was the purpose of them falling down? Yes! Praise!

You may be interested in our times of Conference Call Praying. Please review our digital SWAY which will give you some information. My Prayer Partner and I do about 30 of these Prayer Conference Calls per week. Surely you can join in somewhere.

A Different #GivingTuesday Strategy

A Different #GivingTuesday Strategy

#GivingTuesday Turned Upside Down

We found a different #GivingTuesday strategy that fits who we are.

And please, while we are having fun about the “Begging” for money, please, PLEASE, give to those charities you feel inclined to give to.

“No, no, no! I will resist the temptation to remind them we’re a 501c3 also!”

Sorry, I lost myself there for a moment.

Let us give to you!

Our strategy is to sign up as many people as possible to start receiving our E-Letters.

  • They’re sent out once/10 days or so
  • And we NEVER beg for money

Have a GREAT Christmas season, and please, allow us to serve you, with our E-Letters which you can sign up for HERE.

Thanks FOR Everything? No Way!

My Dear Pray-ers,

If you are in the USA, this is Thanksgiving week!

And if you are the typical Christian, you are saying, “Yes! I have a lot to be thankful for.”

Do you mind if I challenge you though? It’s easy to thank the Lord for the good things in your life, right?

But may I ask? What is your attitude about the difficult things in your life?

I did this “fall-inspired” video out at the barn where Coraçáo is boarded. If you’ve heard me speak you have probably already heard this as I like to share it often. Please note that the video is only 2 minutes long. CLICK HERE.

And if you’re going to thank the Lord FOR everything, then you know that the evil one will bring up worry, and he’ll bring up worry in both a direct fashion and subtle fashion.
So I think that my “Worry-Video” needs to be revisited. Here is my 3 minute “Worry-Video” for you to review.

Below you will see a couple of new SWAYS (digital ministry story-boards).

And note our post on praying during the fires and the drought here in Georgia, called “Drought & Fire Bring Troubles & Fears” which goes hand in hand with my Thanksgiving video above.

Let me also share what started as a Bible Study and has become an important post. It is a post I am calling “What Do Pray-ers Look Like?

Blessings my friends,

Mark

Christmas Options

We have had some very unique Prayer Books. Please take a look at them. While we don’t look at “Black Friday” like retailers do, we’d be honored if you did some of your Christmas purchasing from us.
Remember that you can find more information on our novel in our SWAY dedicated to The Pray-ers.

Teaching Children to Pray Scripture

I found a wonderful little children’s book of verses from 1887. Combining that with prayers based on those verses, the outcome is this little book. It is only $5.00. And, you know who likes these the most? Yep, parents and grandparents reading one or two prayers per night to their youngsters.

A Mug That Goes With The Novel

That sure sounds like a marketing ploy! But if you enjoy drinking out of a mug, let it be our themed mug you’re drinking from. And while you’re at it, take a look at “The Pray-ers” Tote, and the novel.

A House of Prayer for SOME People

An House of Prayer for All People

I don’t recall all of the story, but the broken part of the sidewalk says,

An House of Prayer for All people

As the story goes, that part of the sidewalk has been there since the church was built at this location in 1892, But, in the mid 60’s someone asked, “a bit too loudly” if all people were welcome, as the sign said. Nobody answered, but the next week the sign was taken out of the ground, broken and a new plain slab laid.

Somehow, the broken pieces were stored and in the 90’s relaid, in their broken state.

Front of FBC Pembroke

May I say, I LOVE teaching prayer in a location that has been broken over unity and is unashamed for people to know it.

Hello Derek and Tracy

Derek and Tracy Lewis

I am always so honored when someone from another church drives to where I’m speaking.

It is always so special. Derek is on our Monday, Wednesday and Friday Men’s conference call group.

His wife shared with me, “Mark, these weekly prayer times have been very good for him.”

Cool!

Thanks Derek and Tracy for honoring me by being there today.
