Focusing on: Preparing Your Heart for this Year

the Precept (Principle)

James 4:9

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

the Promise (from God)

Isaiah 61:2e-3

To comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the, that he might be glorified.

our Prayer (to God)

Isaiah 64:9

Be not wroth very sore, O, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech Thee, we are all Thy people.

Take each Precept and Promise and Prayer and pray them back to the Lord as one prayer

NOTE: Yesterday we talked about the promise God is near you when you are down. Today we go a step further. God “comforts ALL that mourn.” You can prepare your heart when you are up and when you are down?

Lord, it’s exciting to seek You and then watch You work

My heart says this about You, “You are to seek My face.” Lord, I will seek Your face.
Psalms 27:8 HCSB

our Prayer (to God)

Psalm 119:37

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in Thy way.

Take each Precept and Promise and Prayer and pray them back to the Lord as one prayer

NOTE: Prepare your heart becomes sometimes you are down. May I apply our promise? God is close to the lowly. Praise the Lord.

Oh Lord, I do abhor that whish is evil, and I desire to cleave to that which is good. Lord, I trust You to turn my eyes from vanity and desire to be the person You look upon. Out of my weakness I honor Your Word, and submit to You quickening me. Thank You Lord for allowing me to call upon You…

NOTE: His Word is so good for us. Look at the Promises from March 26-30: He forgets our sins, we shall obtain joy, heaven is better than the earth, we get to praise this God, and He looks upon poor contrite of spirit, men.

Christian, Are You Watching?

Christian, Are You Watching?

I have been waiting for an article like this to come out. The article is about the seizing of assets from unsavory people.

NOW STOP AND THINK. . . If governments around the world can seize the assets of unsavory individuals, how long will it take before you, Christian, are considered unsavory?

Hint, we are already considered unsavory.

Okay, here’s a ground-rule for you. I AM NOT WRITING A POLITICAL POST, so, if you want to talk politics . . . DON’T . . . I’ll delete your comment/s.

Let me tell you what I am writing about and to whom, by sharing with you THE MOST SOBERING WORDS JESUS EVER UTTERED, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. . . They’ll say, ‘Lord, Lord, look at all we did in Your name’ . . . And I’ll respond to them, ‘Depart from Me, I never knew you’ . . .” (Paraphrase of Matthew 7:21-23)

How many Christians live in the USA, 35M, 65M, 120M? Personally, I have no idea. But here’s what I do know, 2000 years ago, 120 people turned the world upside down . . . May I get a little personal? When was the last time you shared an encouraging word of hope with your neighbor, FROM THE HOPE YOU HAVE IN CHRIST? When was the last time you shared the Gospel of Hope with someone who is lost?

Maybe the issue is you. Maybe you have no hope, yourself?

People are saying publicly, more and more, “Your praying is only to make you feel better.” But they’re wrong. They’re dead wrong. I know this because too many people feel just as worried after they are done praying as they did when they started praying!

Friend, if this is you, maybe you worry because you have no hope, yourself?

The evil one wants you distracted. And he’s getting the job done. Just look at how much you yell at the TV, or the news articles on your phone. Have you not read what Paul said? We are to be aware of the evil one’s schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). And there’s a reason for this. We are to be aware of his schemes, SO HE DOES NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF US, or outsmart us, or outwit us.

Does it feel like sataN has stolen your hope? Maybe it’s because you have had no hope to begin with?

The article by Judge Napolitano is about seizing people’s assets without due-process. My question is, “What are you going to do when it happens to you?”

If Jesus’ return is imminent, EXPECT THESE THINGS TO HAPPEN, in the lead up to that glorious day.

Let me help you get prepared. . .

  1. The first order of business is to make sure you are saved, by acknowledging you aren’t getting to heaven without JESUS’ DEATH on the cross. Then, TRUST GOD for salvation.
  2. Secondly, start a consistent, daily time of prayer, I.E. talking with the Lord. You don’t know how? Here are some easy ideas:
    a. Begin by praising and thanking Him (1 Chronicles 23:30)
    b. Then pray for your family (Joshua 24:15)
    c. Finish by praying that your life would exemplify the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
  3. Third, start reading scripture, looking for a verse or two each day, you can think about (meditate on) ALL DAY LONG (these verses will periodically find their way into your praying).
  4. Fourth, if you don’t have a church, find one, and remember, IT WON’T BE PERFECT.

Are you ready?

Get ready, by submitting to Him.

Here’s the article that prompted this post:

Here are the verses I referenced above (all are HCSB):
Joshua 24:15
But if it doesn’t please you to worship Yahweh, choose for yourselves today the one you will worship: the gods your fathers worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. As for me and my family, we will worship Yahweh.”

1 Chronicles 23:30
They are also to stand every morning to give thanks and praise to the LORD, and likewise in the evening.

Matthew 7:21–23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in Your name, drive out demons in Your name, and do many miracles in Your name?’ 23 Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you! Depart from Me, you lawbreakers!’

2 Corinthians 2:11
I have done this so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his schemes.

Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.
