DAY AFTER NDP

What does prayer . . . What does the Holy Spirit . . . What does scripture . . . prompt you to do NOW?

Depending on your level of participation yesterday, rest may be in the answer, it was for me!

So, what are you going to do?

Yesterday, I traveled the state from Camden County to Habersham County and I encouraged variations of the following ideas:

1. Start calling, and praying weekly with someone in your church who reminds you of you (a younger you, of course)
2. Start texting or emailing your pastor/s and tell them you’re praying for them
3. Same with your mayor, and other elected officials

How about your ideas? Share them in the comments below.

But I have another question.

Does HUMILITY play a part in your future? If so how?

MODERN DAY PROPHETS

An Observation #FromTheRoad

By modern day, I mean the last few hundred years.

Modern day prophets have had a message, based on the circumstances of their time. And while their ultimate desire was revival, sometimes it came and sometimes it didn’t.

But often, and I mean really often, their focus, that which brought them to their knees, as prophets in the first place, was in fact, often achieved, by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In particular I’m thinking about #LeonardRavenhill who for so many years saw the potential for #NuclearWar. He prompted men and women to pray regarding that potentiality.

And they got their prayer answered, the #Nuclear #Holocaust never occurred. In fact, the downfall of Communist Russia occurred and then great Church growth in Russia occurred.

So, here’s my question, “Where is the need for prophets today?” You might ask the question this way, “In what subject/s are Modern Prophets most needed today?”

You may think the work for prophets today is to do battle in and against the political arena. Personally, I’m less inclined to believe that because of verses like Romans 13:1-2 which tell me that God is the one who puts into office whom He wants, when He wants, and for the reasons He wants.

No, I think the bigger need for prophets today is to speak into the LACK OF HUMILITY in the church.

Hear me! I agree that the social ills of our day are bad and getting worse but look at the 7 things God hates (Proverbs 6:16-19). Did you note the first one? Haughty eyes, arrogant eyes, lofty eyes, high eyes.

Pride!

That is FIRST ON GOD’S LIST OF WHAT HE HATES.

Do you think maybe we lead the world astray by our pride and arrogance? I think so. I think they look at our “haughty eyes,” and say, “Yo, dude, I don’t want any of that.”
Or maybe they say, “Yo, dude, I have enough of that in my own life, I don’t want any of yours.”

You know what I think? I think the world wants #Hope, but instead, we in the church are giving them cockiness.

If the Modern Prophet takes on the church, he shouldn’t expect many friends.

FACEBOOK CHANGED CHRISTIAN INTERACTION

(OR DID THEY???)

I USED TO. . .
Boost a post directly to those interested in prayer.
Or to those who were Christians.
Or who were interested in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

NO MORE. . .
Facebook removed those direct options. Now, I’m not here to complain about Facebook. They may be large, but they are their own company, and they can do whatever they want. Personally, I think they should be allowed to do whatever they want.

WHAT MEANETH THIS. . .
Simple, this is a wake-up call about your relationship with God.
He is where you get “all you need for this life,” (2 Peter 1:3), not social media.

ASK YOURSELF. . .
Do you spend more time on social media than in the Word & Prayer?
In whom do you put your trust, God or man? Are you sure?

IF SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE, WHAT???
That’s the question, what needs to change in your life?
Where do you begin making changes?
Is there something, “bite-sized” I can start with?

RELATIONSHIP IS THE ANSWER. . .
Not relationship with family members, as important as that is.
Not relationship with your plants, as soothing as that is.
Not relationship with your animals, as fun as that is.

MARK-ISM. . .
Your prayer life is the barometer to your spiritual life.
If that Mark-ism is true, how’s your spiritual life?

DIRTY LITTLE SECRET. . .
Facebook DIDN’T change Christian interaction.
Christians changed Christian interaction.

BITE-SIZED STEPS. . .
-STEP ONE – Run to God in prayer.
-STEP TWO – Run to your spouse in prayer.
-STEP THREE – Run to a close friend, AND PRAY OFTEN & REGULARLY.

I’LL LEAD (ALONG W/OTHER PRAY-ERS). . .
I do 50+ prayer conference calls every week. You can do 1 or 2.
Get involved in one another’s lives, NOT WITH GOSSIP, but praying with/for one another!

VERSES YOU SHOULD KNOW. . .
Where two or three are gathered. . .
Pray without ceasing. . .
Devote yourself to prayer. . .

IN CLOSING. . .
If the Bible is completely true and even trustworthy then consider this. . .

His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3 HCSB
