Common Thread Ministries is honored to have as a friend of the ministry, Bro. David from Nakuru, Kenya. He and his wife have had to deal with much tragedy, making this excerpt from A Threefold Cord very timely.
This was taken this last March when we were preparing for our later, May trip.
July 2, from A Threefold Cord
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope.
Promise (from God)
Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands… but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us
Prayer (to God)
And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when Thou comest into thy kingdom.
Combine the Precept and Promise and Prayer and pray them back to the Lord as one prayer
What a great reminder that our focus is NOT on our circumstances. Who is our Stronghold?
What is a prisoner of hope?
Yes, you and I whose hope is in the Lord, our Christ!
And where is Jesus now?
Yes, in heaven at the Father’s right hand (Hebrews 1:3; 8:1), “where He ever lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25).”
So now let us pray with the penitent thief, “Lord Jesus, remember me when You enter Your kingdom. When I awake with anxiety I will turn my focus to You (Romans 8:6), for You are my peace (Ephesians 2:14).”
