Message to Border Patrol Agents

September 4th, 2019

Below is an edited version of my message to the Border Patrol Agents in Laredo TX on September 4th, 2019

Greetings.

I want you to know that those I pray with are not only praying for you, but for your families.

Further, EVERY Legislator that knows I’m here, is glad you’ll be encouraged tonight.

I’m honored to serve you!!

  • I’ll share some sobering thoughts from Scripture.
  • Then I’ll pray for You.

If you don’t believe Scripture to be God’s word, relax, I’ll be done in 10 minutes.

What Scripture Says and Does Not Say

I want to share with you with what Jesus said, and what Peter said, and what Paul said.

And what they did not say.

Man has been manipulating and abusing one-another since Cain and Abel.

And you are smack dab in the middle of similar manipulation and abuse issues.

Jesus warned us about persecution.

Looking down thru time, He said that because they persecuted Him, they will persecute you and me too (John 15:20).

Peter says it this way, he said, “Why in the world are you so surprised you are going thru a fiery ordeal.” (1 Peter 4:12)

Let me remind you of two things that occurred while Jesus was on the cross?

  • The word says Jesus was reviled (abusively criticized), but He reviled them not in return (1 Peter 2:23).
    • “abusively criticized,” Sound familiar?
  • When He was criticized, mocked and spit upon, He asked the Father to forgive them (Luke 23:34).

My friends, that’s the standard for us to follow.

But, did you know. . .

The Bible Also Talks About HOW We are to Work

You might say, your LOYALTY when you work

In Colossians 3:23 it says, what you are doing, your work, your job, you are to do “with Excellence, as if you’re doing it unto the Lord and not unto man.”

Whatever you do, do it with excellence

When you realize what scripture says, I trust you’ll find newfound endurance to do with excellence, everything I’m hearing you are already doing.

And then there’s Jesus’ words, He too talked about excellence, but said it DIFFERENTLY. He set the same expectation, but said, “that you, and me, we are His servants merely doing what is expected of us” (Luke 17:10).

Finally, Obedience

Which DOES NOT mean everything will be perfect in your life

Can I remind you that even when the disciples OBEDIENTLY followed Christ’s commands, they ended up in a storm (Matthew 8:23-27; 14:22-33).

Let Me Pray

Some passages from Scripture . . .

  • Pray for excellence from Colossians 3:23
  • Pray for wisdom from James 1:5
  • Pray for His will from Colossians 1:9b-10
  • Pray for unity from Romans 15:5-6
  • Pray to the God of hope from Romans 15:13

FINISH WITH: Thank You, Father, for the honor to stand before these folks and pray for them and their families. Let me never sin, by ceasing to pray for them (1 Samuel 12:23).

It was my honor to serve my country speaking to and then praying for these agents

Blessings,
