Our “Long-Stay-Visa” arrived and we returned to Capestrano December 11th marking the beginning of our 2nd chapter, what I call, “SETTLING IN.” We are now learning a completely new routine, which includes a sense of, well, HOME, believe it or not.

Retirement in Italy
After years of dedicated service, Mark and his wife, Naida, are setting their sights on a peaceful retirement in the picturesque landscapes of Italy, and in the village of Capestrano, AQ.
Relationship Growth
October 2024 we moved our residence to Italy. That was when our lives changed as we knew them. While we have lots of projects here in Italy, we realize that our biggest priorities are one another; Our relationship, together, and our relationship with the Lord.

New Routines
Moving towards full-time retirement, a friend asked us to consider, “What will you retire to?” We are so grateful for Arthur’s challenge, as the pace of our lives has changed so much since September 2024.
One of THE BEST changes has become our morning quiet-times which we do together.

Today is our first full day of traveling to a town, near Capestrano, just to have a short Vaca, from our home in Abruzzo.
We look forward to doing more and more of this, but, admittedly, we are moving slowly into this part of our retirement plans.

Mark and Naida Mirza: A Journey of Faith and Dedication
Mark and Naida Mirza have dedicated their lives to the service of others through their secular work and Christian ministry. Mark, originally from Turlock, California (go Bulldogs!), met Naida, at a conference over two decades ago, and their lives were changed forever. Together, they have built a life centered around spiritual growth, community support and excellence in the corporate world.
While Mark has been working to build up others and their prayer lives through founding ‘Common Thread Ministries,’ Naida has been in the corporate world, and retired as a VP and Principal of a National Architecture & Interior Design Firm. Since, 2007, Mark has been holding workshops and meetings, teaching effective prayer strategies in conferences and churches, and Naida has always been that “helper who is just right for him” (Genesis 2:18 NLT).
After years of impactful service, they have decided to embark on a new chapter, a “New-Adventure,” by moving to Italy. This decision aligns with their desire to retire in a serene setting, explore new cultures, and remain in service to the Lord, especially as it relates to their personal growth as a couple, which, of course, includes Spiritual growth.
