the Precept (Principle)
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth.
the Promise (from God)
If ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
our Prayer (to God)
Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of Thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for Thy name’s sake.
Take each Precept and Promise and Prayer and pray them back to the Lord as one prayer
FREE prayer helps are always available on our Prayer-Basics-Page
NOTE: “Mortify” is a strong word, and perhaps it should be, for while our salvation was a free gift, it cost us our lives. We now belong to the Lord.
