the Precept (Principle)
Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
the Promise (from God)
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
our Prayer (to God)
I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.
Take each Precept and Promise and Prayer and pray them back to the Lord as one prayer

LIFTING YOUR NATION: Father, that we would deny ourselves and take up the cross you want us to, individually, and then collectively as a nation.
TURNING THE ABOVE DAY’S VERSES INTO A PRAYER
Father, we SO need to remember You as our loving Father. You said that things will go from bad to worse (2 Timothy 3:13) before You return. And while September 11 is now a day of infamy, You tell us to deny ourselves, very much as those first responders did. Father, we desire to honor You, by gladly taking our cross to follow You, whatever the cost.
NOTE: Forgive me for a certain amount of “forcing” the day, 9-11, into this prayer, but it seems appropriate for now, and for where our future may be going.
