Jeremiah 3:13a

Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord Thy God.

the Promise (from God)

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

our Prayer (to God)

Psalm 51:3-4a

I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Thy sight.

I cried unto thee; save me, and I shall keep Thy testimonies.

NOTE: Often we find ourselves preparing for sinlessness by giving ourselves a pass, for certain sins. STOP! 1 Corinthians 10:13 makes it clear, we DO NOT have to sin.

TURNING THE ABOVE DAY’S VERSES INTO A PRAYER

Father, You desire that we live Your Word, not merely hear it! Forgive us for accepting Your salvation but shunning obedience. You have saved us and because of that we desire to keep Your Word, and so Lord, we trust You for the grace to keep Your them.

NOTE: Do you find yourself saying to God, “I hear You Lord!” and His words are NOT impacting your behavior? Talk to God about it!
