PrayerCon Expectation

WHAT’S NEW TODAY

Check This Post Every Afternoon for Updates. . .

TUESDAY

What’s New Today?

  • Expectations
  • Distractions

Thinking of Psalm 5:3, “Coming to the Lord in the morning, giving Him your requests, AND THEN YOU WAIT EXPECTANTLY.” Did you look at yesterday’s prayer? (See below)

What’s your expectation for this weekend? Is your expectation a big expectation? Is it an unrealistic expectation? What’s your expectation for this weekend?

WE DON’T CARE! And we don’t want you to either.

Here’s the only thing you have to consider, and it comes because of Psalm 34:7 and 1 John 5:14-15.

Is your expectation CONTRARY to God’s will?

No?

Then trust God to DELIVER you your EXPECTATION, or to take it off of your heart.

DISTRACTIONS

Don’t be surprised if you are experiencing distractions about attending, Friday.

MONDAY

What’s New Today?

  • Live Stream Button
  • A PrayerCon Prayer

We added the Live-Stream button above, in case others want to view PrayerCon.

You have heard Mark pray for years, from Psalm 5:3, “Come to the Lord in the morning. Lay your requests before Him. And then wait in expectation. We ask you to do the same with the following prayer.

Below is a prayer that Mark Mirza and Greg Nicholaides prayed this last Friday, for PrayerCon. We think you will find it an inspiration to the way/s you can pray for this weekend.

Praying for PrayerCon

Mark: Oh Lord our Lord, my brother and I approach You in one accord reminded of just how sweet it is when men come together in unity. I thank You that You give me the opportunity to do this many times each week. I praise You for Your faithfulness Father. You are always available to hear me when I come to You like this. I also praise You for Your generous mercy which I so often need.
Greg: Yes indeed Lord, how sweet it is when we enjoy this time together with You. I pray that You will abundantly bless everything associated with PrayerCon next weekend. Although we have crafted a flexible schedule, I pray that we will be totally submitted to the will of Your Holy Spirit in what we do, what we say, even what we think. Your people are coming together focused on You Father!
Mark: Father, please allow everyone who is coming to meet with You at PrayerCon safe and unincumbered passage to and from the event. And, please keep them free from illness and any physical difficulty that could interfere with their participation. Some will experience distractions between now and March 17th. Lord, give them the freedom to look beyond the temporary challenges to the expected blessings of PrayerCon.
Greg: Gracious Heavenly Father, I pray that Your people who assemble for PrayerCon will come prepared to profess their love for You and to confess their sorrow about how they have thought, said, and done things that did not please You. I pray that Your people will come to PrayerCon ready to share each other’s burdens as they lay them down in front of You.
Mark: Lord, thank You for making PrayerCon possible. So with confident expectation, we lift up this prayer to You as a sweet smelling offering. We do so in the wonderful and all powerful name, and by the precious and transforming blood of our Blessed Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ – Amen.

SUNDAY

For those of you who “Hashtag” please use the following, #PrayerCon as you announce on social media. If you desire a photo, please use the one above.

FYI. Registrations close on Tuesday. And we’ve got a full house!

Let me remind you that if you are staying onsite, you’ll need to bring a blanket (or sleeping-bag) and a towel. Daniel Prayer Garden supplies fitted sheets and a pillow & case.

Finally, the weather. Personally, I don’t trust the weather info, but I am adding a pair of gloves in case we prayer walk during part of our evening of all-night-prayer.

See you soon!

REMEMBER TO CHECK THIS LINK OUT EACH AFTERNOON FOR UPDATES.

1 WEEK FROM TODAY

There are some final details we need to go over with you.

Don’t forget the last week post regarding the Scripture we want you to dig into. CLICK HERE

This week let us address the following:

  • Parking
  • Clothing
  • Bedding
  • Fooding (sorry)
  • Misc

PARKING

Below is a map we want you to use based on when you are attending. There will be upwards of 30 – 35 cars at any given time. Fortunately there is plenty of parking, if you follow the map. If you have any questions, call Mark’s cell (404) 606-2322.

If you are dropping things off, Jerry, park in front of The Chapel, drop off the case of books, then go and park.

Tina, any food you need to get down to the Fellowship Hall, park in front of The Chapel and we can walk it down there, then you can park in the appropriate lot.

No one will park in front of The Chapel, just in case it’s raining and you want to drop off someone before you park.

Location, Location, Location. . . Okay, forget about marketing. Put this address into your GPS to get there. But if you have any questions, call Mark’s cell: (404) 606-2322

Daniel Prayer Garden, 3430 Land Road, Alpharetta, GA 30004 (https://www.danielprayergarden.org/)

CLOTHING

Obviously, dress however you are comfortble. Personally, I will be in jeans, comfortable shoes, a golf shirt and a light jacket.

Watch the weather for Milton Georgia, we’re not up into the Georgia “Mountains” but it could get a little chilly if there is much humidity in the air.

You will be snug and warm in the Chapel, but you WILL CHOOSE to walk the beautiful grounds, and you will be walking on gravel trails. During the night of the 17th, the trail lights will remain on all night, since some of us will be praying all night.

BEDDING

PLEASE READ THIS. If you are staying on-sight, you need to bring a blanket (or sleeping bag). The Daniel Prayer Garden supplies fitted sheets and a pillow/case, but you will need a blanket to stay warm.

FOOD

ARRIVE HUNGRY! Our food service people will be feeding you and they are prepared to take care of you beginning with a hot dinner the first night (albeit an early dinner). So, arrive hungry. We will also have a hot breakfast and lunch on Staurday.

This is not a FASTING event. From the very beginning, us breaking bread together has been an important part of the planning. Fellowship over food is always precious, and we want to experience it. So, if you are only attending a few hours, DO NOT MISS the food time! To see the schedule. . . CLICK HERE

MISCELLANEOUS

Except for those arriving THURSDAY night, everyone should check in at The Chapel, not the office. If you are arriving FRIDAY you may want to bring a flashlight, to head back to your car or dorm, or to stay and prayer walk.

TOILETRIES. . . If you are spending the night (or nights), in addition to your under arm deoderant, BRING A TOWEL or towels. Again, Daniel Prayer Garden only supplies fitted sheets and a pillow, not towels.

Remember to check the weather for Milton Georgia to determine if you should bring an umbrella.

Come Prepared For A VERY Special Time

We have a schedule which we will hold VERY LOOSELY as we want to allow the Lord to move within us.

You often hear Mark pray into Psalm 133:1, and he applies the verse by praying, “How good and pleasant it is when men (and women) come together in unity.” The desire of this weekend is that you experience the presence of the Lord. Therefore, holding the schedule loosely is critical.

Again, here is the link to the schedule. CLICK HERE

Arrive Hungry.

PrayerCon Scripture

3 WEEKS FROM TODAY

Familiarize Yourself with the Passage Below.

Friday the 17th will be here soon.

Personally, I’m really looking forward to all of you meeting each other.

Psalm 46 (HCSB, with additions)

Psalm 46:1-3 (God comforts by His strength)
Psalm 46:4-7 (God comforts by His presence)
Psalm 46:8-11 (God comforts by His works)

Psalm 46 (HCSB)
God Our Refuge
For the choir director. A song of the sons of Korah.
According to Alamoth.

1
God is our refuge and strength,
a helper who is always found
in times of trouble.

2
Therefore we will not be afraid,
though the earth trembles
and the mountains topple
into the depths of the seas,

3
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake
with its turmoil.
Selah

4
There is a river—
its streams delight the city of God,
the holy dwelling place of the Most High.

5
God is within her; she will not be toppled.
God will help her when the morning dawns.

6
Nations rage, kingdoms topple;
the earth melts when He lifts His voice.

7
The Lord of Hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
Selah

8
Come, see the works of the Lord,
who brings devastation on the earth.

9
He makes wars cease throughout the earth.
He shatters bows and cuts spears to pieces;
He burns up the chariots.

10
“Stop your fighting— (HCSB)
“Cease striving— (NASB1995)
“Be Still— (KJV)
and know that I am God,
exalted among the nations, exalted on the earth.”

11
Yahweh of Hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our stronghold.
Selah

To Martin Luther this was a COMFORTING Psalm. His hymn: “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” is a paraphrase of Psalm 46.

DORMS: Consider this option, especially if you plan to spend some time, AT NIGHT, with us in prayer. These dorms are on site at Daniel Prayer Garden, but there are a limited number of spaces.

Let us know your interest in the “Registration Survey” below.

FOOD: We will have plenty for you during our event, but if you have specific allergies, please let us know. which you can do in the “Registration Survey” below.

We want you stay nourished, and so for that reason, we as a group are not fasting during this event.

But, if you feel led by the Lord, please do so, and if you would let Mark know, privately, we will do our best to support you, without being a temptation.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS: Mark will offer lots of free things with your registration. But, it’s important you understand how we want you to register (Please, both attenders & not, complete the “Registration Survey” below). . .

Cost: After much prayer, I am convinced I need to leave the registration amount up to you (whether you attend or not). Certainly there are costs for the event location, musicians, food, etc. But I will tell you what I tell pastors when I speak in their churches, “Whatever you are comfortable with, I will be content with.” That rule has served me well for 15+ years. I think it’s perfect for the registration of this event. Your registration fee will be considered a donation, after we have determined all the costs for the event. Donate in the registration link below or in the “Registration Surve” which you will access below.

2 Registration Options. . .

Considering Attending: Unless it’s your anniversary weekend, that weekend, we hope EVERYONE will “consider” attending. Your “For Sure Yes or No” can come later. When you register below, you are AUTOMATICALLY added to a “Praying for the Event” group.

Unable to Attend, but Praying for the Event: We expect this event to be undergirded with lots of prayer. Expect a few emails, but VERY FEW.
