About The Book

Thinking About Prayer was written by Dr. Darrel R Suderman.

Darrel has a heart for workplace ministries.

This book was designed as a daily devotional guide or even a prayer guide for workplace Bible Studies. He has also written course materials for child and adult spiritual giftedness at the Southeast Christian Church (a megachurch) in Louisville, Ky.

Is prayer in the workplace legal?

Is it Legal for Employees Pray at Work? Yes, employees do have the right to pray at work. According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), “refusing to accommodate an employee’s sincerely held religious beliefs or practices” is prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The world continues to become increasingly interconnected. As a result, religious inclusion in the workplace is more critical than ever for employers to get right. With this expanding diversity in faith comes the responsibility to protect employees from discrimination, both intentional and unintentional.

Chapter 10

Blended Prayer and Bible Study

Sometimes we blend prayer with Bible study.

This certainly gives us purer direction to both instruct us

and teach us in the way in which we should go.

And these are the only two ways God talks with us.

Prayer:

Lord, our prayer is to hear God’s voice and to connect with you. You have given us four

touchpoints for our communication with you – two eyes and two ears – help us to use them to learn

more about you.

Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”

Philippians 4:6,7

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
