May I have some fun with our POLITICS?
Okay, I will!
All of you who know me know that I am in the Prayer Business. It’s what I do, numerous times a week. It’s what I teach, numerous times a month. And frankly, it’s my passion.
Along with that, you know that I am a strong proponent of praying Scripture Back to God.
So, what do I have to say about #PresidentTrump wanting to #pray for #Schwarzenegger’s #ratings?
Well, well, well, believe it or not, I do have an answer!
First of all, we know that God looks at the heart, just look at 1 Samuel 16:7 (HCSB) But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his stature, because I have rejected him. Man does not see what the LORD sees, for man sees what is visible, but the LORD sees the heart.”
Also, if you’ve heard me speak, you’ve heard me state that Psalm 37:4 says, “When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He WILL, not maybe, not possibly, He WILL give us the desires of our heart.”
Soooo, if you think that President Trump is the #devil incarnate, then he doesn’t pass the first part of verse 34 and God will not hear his prayer for Schwarzenegger’s ratings.
BUT, let’s assume for a moment that President Trump IS DELIGHTING HIMSELF in the Lord. If that is the case, then the Lord is looking at his heart, to give President Trump the desire of his heart!
Simple, huh? Well here’s the problem, as God looks at his heart, did President Trump really want Schwarzenegger’s ratings to go up, or was it Trump’s “jokster” attitude and he really wants the ratings to reduce?
To me, I think it’s kind of fun. And besides, who says we can’t have fun in Scripture? Haven’t you ever wondered what it was like for Peter and Andrew and Jesus going fishing on the Sea of Galilee? I have!
I can just see Peter with his pole in the water, Andrew stationed on a part of the boat to see where Jesus is looking and then because of Jesus’ look Andrew says, “Peter, over there! Throw your line in there! That’s where the fish are! That’s where Jesus just looked!”
Of course the trouble with that is that Jesus would have looked there just to “mess with them.”
